Nzovu Rundu represents a natural progression for Shearzone Safaris, expanding beyond its original base in Kafue into the Lower Zambezi National Park. While the setting differs, the underlying approach remains consistent: a focus on strong locations, considered scale and a close relationship with the surrounding environment.
Positioned along the Nkalange Channel of the Zambezi River, the camp offers direct access to one of Zambia’s most dynamic safari landscapes. The combination of river frontage, woodland and open areas supports a wide range of wildlife, with constant movement along the channel and across the surrounding terrain. This allows for a more varied rhythm to each day, shaped by both land- and water-based activities, including game drives, walking safaris, canoeing and time spent on the river.
The camp has been designed to remain deliberately small, with eight luxury tents and two family tents arranged to maximise privacy and uninterrupted views. Each unit incorporates open decks and natural materials, with interiors kept considered and functional. Features such as private plunge pools and outdoor spaces are integrated into the setting rather than competing with it.
As with Mozhi Bush Camp, the emphasis is on creating an experience shaped by the environment rather than imposed upon it. Time at camp is unhurried, with the river setting the pace and providing a constant point of reference throughout the day.
Nzovu Rundu is not a departure, but an extension — offering a different landscape while maintaining the same principles that underpin Shearzone’s approach to safari.
