About us
The name Shearzone is inspired by a geological term describing an area where powerful natural forces meet, shift and shape the land over time.
Where it all began with Mozhi Bush Camp in Kafue

As the cornerstone of the Shearzone Safaris legacy, Mozhi Bush Camp occupies a premier position at the confluence of the Moshi and Lufupa Rivers, securing a definitive and soulful authority over the Zambian wilderness through its raw elegance and profound landscape connection.
Addition of Lower Zambezi with Nzovu Rundu

Building on the success of Mozhi Bush Camp, Shearzone Safaris extends its prestige into the Lower Zambezi National Park with the introduction of Nzovu Rundu Luxury Camp. Positioned along the Nkanlange Channel at the width of the Zambezi River, this second camp introduces an refined level of comfort while maintaining the same emphasis on location, wildlife and a curated safari experience.
Coming soon - Achikunda Luxury Camp

The hotly anticipated Achikunda Luxury Camp is due to open in early 2027 in the heart of South Luangwa National Park; one of Africa’s most renowned wildlife destinations. Designed to reflect Shearzone Safaris’ signature approach to safari living, Achikunda will offer an intimate, refined experience rooted in wilderness, comfort and meaningful connection to nature. Surrounded by South Luangwa’s iconic landscapes, the camp will immerse guests in one of Africa’s richest wildlife regions, where every moment is shaped by the rhythm of the wild
While details are still unfolding, Achikunda Luxury Camp promises the same thoughtful hospitality, authenticity and quiet luxury that define every Shearzone Safaris experience — delivered in a setting where life truly is better in the wild.
Looking to the future - Old Njati, North Luangwa National Park

Looking further ahead, Old Njati represents a step into one of Zambia’s most remote and untouched landscapes. The focus remains on careful expansion, with each new camp shaped by its environment rather than imposed upon it.
Set to open in 2028 within the pristine wilderness of North Luangwa National Park, Old Njati promises to be an incredible addition offering an extraordinary home from home and the perfect base from which to explore one of Africa’s most unspoiled and remote safari destinations.
Shearzone
Our Story
In nature, shear zones are places of movement, transformation and resilience — where pressure creates form, character and strength.
For Shearzone Safaris, the name reflects a similar philosophy. Our camps represent the meeting point between wilderness and people, conservation and exploration, tradition and modern safari travel.
Shearzone also speaks to our approach: working respectfully within these dynamic environments rather than against them. We believe the most meaningful safari experiences are born at these intersections—where guests don’t simply observe the wild but feel connected to it.
The name is a reminder that Zambia’s wilderness is not static. It is alive, evolving and powerful—and so too is our commitment to protecting it while sharing its beauty with the world.
Shearzone Safaris was born from a deep respect for Zambia’s wild places and a belief that safari experiences should be meaningful, personal and rooted in authenticity.
The vision was inspired by a desire to showcase Zambia beyond the obvious—to celebrate it’s vast, untamed landscapes, rich wildlife and the quiet moments that make the bush so powerful. From the beginning, Shearzone Safaris set out to create camps and experiences that honour the land, tell its stories and allow guests to connect genuinely with nature, culture and themselves.
At it’s heart, Shearzone Safaris exists to protect and share Zambia’s natural heritage while delivering thoughtful, immersive journeys where life truly is better in the wild.
What began as a focused safari operation has grown into a carefully curated portfolio of camps across some of Zambia’s most remarkable national parks. The journey has been shaped by hands-on involvement, continuous learning and an unwavering commitment to quality and integrity.
From establishing Mozhi Bush Camp in Kafue National Park—set at the confluence of the Moshi and Lufupa Rivers—to expanding into the Lower Zambezi with Nzovu Rundu, and now extending into North and South Luangwa, each step has been intentional. Growth has never been rushed. Instead, every camp has been developed with respect for its environment, its history and the communities around it.
Along the way, Shearzone Safaris has evolved its operations, storytelling and guest experiences—refining standards, deepening its conservation ethos and strengthening its reputation as a proudly Zambian safari brand.
Looking ahead, Shearzone Safaris aims to become one of Zambia’s most respected safari companies—valued not for scale, but for substance.
Over the next 15 years, the brand will expand thoughtfully across key wilderness areas, creating distinctive camps with their own stories, sense of place, and purpose.
The focus remains on sustainability, conservation partnerships, staff development, and authentic guest experiences that endure. Shearzone Safaris seeks to protect Zambia’s wild spaces while nurturing the next generation of safari professionals and storytellers. Above all, the vision is to stay true to its roots: crafting soulful safaris that celebrate Zambia’s wilderness, honour its legacy, and invite guests to slow down, reconnect, and belong.
Beyond Hospitality
Our Impact
Bushbaby Foundation
At Shearzone Safaris, our impact extends beyond the experience of the safari itself.
Through a combination of sustainable tourism and community-focused initiatives, we aim to support opportunities that contribute to local livelihoods and the long-term protection of the environment.
We are proud to partner with the Bushbaby Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting communities across Zambia.
Your Impact
Giving back through every safari
While our work is rooted in Zambia’s landscapes and wildlife, it is equally shaped by the communities who live alongside them.
We believe that tourism should contribute positively to the places it touches. Through a combination of conservation support and community-focused initiatives, each stay helps sustain the wider ecosystem in which we operate.
This approach is central to how we think about the long term — ensuring that both the environment and local communities benefit from the presence of tourism, and that every visit leaves a considered, positive impact.
Thanks to the whole team who made our honeymoon so magical, we are already planning our return.
